Publishing
An editorial site the staff could actually ship
A draft could go live in three hours, down from two days.

The result
3h
draft to live
The situation
A regional trade magazine ran on a theme with twelve plugins. Writers waited on a contractor to publish an issue. Archives were a folder of PDFs.
What we did
We rebuilt WordPress around the issue, not the theme. Roles matched the newsroom. Preview looked like the public page. The archive became a search, not a drive.
After
The contractor is no longer the bottleneck. Editors ship when the copy is ready.
What we shipped
Custom WordPress for issues and sections
Roles so writers can publish without a developer
Searchable issue archive
